Promotion aspects of Auditor are moderate in CAG. After 3 years you will become Sr. Auditor (grade pay 4200). After Sr. Auditor chances of promotion are very limited. After 10- 15 years you will become Supervisor (Grade pay 4800). After that no promotion will be there.

What is the job profile of Assistant Audit Officer in CAG?

Job Profile- Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) in CAG is a decent government job. There is little workload and responsibility until you become Sr. AO which takes lot of time. When given office responsibility, you’ll be section incharge, where mostly file work is there.

What is the primary responsibility of the Central Accountant General (CAG)?

CAG has the primary responsibility to audit government accounts and is done through various teams consisting of branch officer (Audit officer/ Sr. Audit officer), Assistant audit officer, Auditor/MTS. They’re also responsible for follow ups and creating reports of audit.

What is it like to be an AAO in CAG?

At the post of AAO the work load will increase but overall workload is not that much. AAO is the backbone of the department. The only negative point in CAG is social life as most of time u need to go for audits which will require fields visit. Thus your family life will suffer a bit here. Power wise it is very good job.
