How many essays are there in ETS pool?

ETS has published the complete pool of 328 GRE essay topics which will ever appear on the Analytical Writing section of the test. While these collections of prompts provide unparalleled Analytical Writing practice, some test takers may find the sheer number of possible essay topics to be a bit overwhelming.

The following information applies whether you are taking your test at home or at a test center. The overall testing time for the GRE ® General Test is about three hours and 45 minutes. There are six sections, one of which is an unidentified/unscored section. The Analytical Writing section will always be first.

Both test your ability to write a cogent thesis statement that you must defend over the course of several paragraphs.

What is the pool of Issue topics on the GRE?

Pool of Issue Topics. This page contains the Issue topics for the Analytical Writing section of the GRE ® General Test. When you take the test, you will be presented with one Issue topic from this pool. Each Issue topic consists of an issue statement or statements followed by specific task instructions that tell you how to respond to the issue.
