How many honors classes should a sophomore take?
Sophomore Year: Take one to three AP classes. Consider adding a more challenging AP class, like World History or US History, and one or two less-demanding APs. Continue to take honors courses if possible in your other core classes.
Is 4 AP classes too much sophomore year?
I recommend taking only 2 APs sophomore year, 4-5 Junior year, and 3 to 4 Senior year. That puts you in the 9-11 range which more than enough. Also keep in mind that if you apply to Brown with 12 APs, you’ve wasted your time since they give you ZERO AP credit. It’s rarely a 4, mostly 5s that can get credit.
Is getting two B’s bad?
As long as you’re getting a great eduction, and you’re satisfied with your life path, you’ll be good to go. One or two B’s especially in AP classes, will most likely not harm your overall weighted GPA that much. Hope this helps!

Is it OK to get AC in an AP class?
For moderately selective schools (these will most likely be your state schools), a C in an AP class is not going to have nearly as much of an impact on your admissions decision as a highly selective school. However, having a high GPA and high SAT/ACT scores is sometimes almost a guarantee of acceptance.
Is it OK to get Bs in AP classes?
The short answer is that it’s better to get a “B” in the AP or Honors class because selective colleges want to see that students are challenging themselves academically, but also that they’re mastering the material.
