How much can the Army charge for lost equipment?

If you are signed for an item and it goes missing you pay for it, up to one month’s pay. There are exceptions. A property book officer (the officer in charge of tracking a unit’s equipment) can be charged for the full value of an item if they are signed for it and it is lost, even if it exceeds a month’s pay.
