How much is a handicap placard in California?

You can get the Application for Disabled Person Placard or Plates (Form REF 195) by going to your local California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Office or printing the document online. There is no fee for a permanent parking placards and license plates, but there is a $6 fee for a temporary parking placards.

Can you get ca REAL ID at AAA?

AAA members can now apply for their Real ID at select auto club locations, including one in San Diego, through a new pilot program in partnership with the Department of Motor Vehicles. To get the Real ID card through AAA, members will have to fill out the application and upload documents to the DMV’s Real ID website.

The California Vehicle Code does not specifically say that hanging the disabled placard from the rearview mirror is illegal, but it can be considered illegal if the hanging placard is impairing driving, based on an officer’s opinion.
