How much ram do I need for Android emulator?

You’ll need at least 2 GB RAM to use an Android emulator. For some emulators, the minimum memory requirement may be higher. It’s important to note that 2GB of disk storage would not make up for memory as that’s a requirement. 4 GB is recommended by most Android emulators, including Android Studio emulator.

Android studio is a very large IDE which needs lot of memory at a time to make it run smooth. So a minimum of 4GB of RAM is required for it to run. But even that 4GB doesn’t make it run smooth. So it would suggest you to get atleast 8GB of RAM on your laptop to make it run faster and smooth.

According to my experience, starting Android Studio and running an project in Debian is much faster than in Windows. Run Android apps with your android device instead of emulator. Then, 4GB RAM will be sufficient to run smoothly without any lags. However, if you are too attached to Windows, it’s ok.

From my experience you can run Android studio with i3 and 8gbs of ram on a pc but not very smoothly you should have enough patience for your work if your a Windows user.Ram is enough for your work but what will make you down is i3 processor. It sometimes takes much time to do our work like working with AVD same time can slow down your work.

1gb of ram will be enough for emulation of apps within0.5gb range. THE logic is if you run a ‘x’ GB app , you should have ‘x’ GB RAM.
