Is 3rd attempt allowed in JEE Advanced?

Several aspirants of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced have written to the Joint Admission Board (JAB) requesting a third attempt to write the IIT entrance. As per the rules, students are allowed two attempts at JEE Advanced, which also includes the year they have cleared the class 12 exam in.

How many times a person can attempt JEE Advanced?

Criterion 3 – Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

Why there are only two attempts in JEE Advanced?

Thus, the number of attempts for JEE Advanced must be increased to three. If a student does not appear/could not qualify JEE Mains in his first attempt (class 12th) then why his attempt for JEE Advanced, the next year is considered second even if he didn’t appeared for it the previous year.

Still IIT is the best institution in the country!!!..no doubt!!!..people can give anything to get a seat there…so giving iitjee two times is VERY VERY REASONABLE AND COMMENDABLE AND SHOULD BE APPLAUDED…but 3 times in succession will only waste 2 years out of your career ..
