Is 400 fps in an airsoft good?

Most fields now have a 366 FPS field limit. Those that go higher 400 is their max. If you get it at 400 FPS and put a few hundred rounds then it comes down to the 366 needed for the big mil-sim games. 400 is as high as you can go without easily breaking skin at point blank.

What does 400 fps feel like?

350-400 FPS: it hurts from a distance that’s greater than 35 feet, and if it’s closer, it will leave a golf ball size welt; 400-500 FPS: if shot from under 50 feet the pain is brutal, and the BB will break the skin and even cause damage to the tissue and small bones underneath.
