Is Animax coming back in India?
On 18 April 2017, Animax ceased broadcasting in India on regular television and was replaced by Sony Yay. Sony Pictures Networks later made Animax Asia HD available as live channel on its Indian digital platform, Sony LIV.
Why did Animax fail?
In July 4, 2004, Animax, an exclusively anime broadcasting T.V channel was launched in India to promote anime in India. However, the attempt failed because adults mistook anime for children friendly content. The Dubbed version of anime was very much liked by the Indian audience.
