Is Ava a person ex machina?
The film Ex Machina tells a story focused on three characters. A rich prodigious inventor Nathan invites Caleb, an employee at his company, to his private manor to test his newest project: a female artificial-intelligence (AI) robot named Ava.
What did Ava draw?
Nathan saw the drawing of the Caleb made by AVA, he tore it without giving any response to AVA. The reason why he did so was to see how AVA was going to use this situation in her favor(that explains the battery powered camera in the room).
What is VFX used for?
In filmmaking, visual effects (VFX) is the creation or manipulation of any on-screen imagery that does not physically exist in real life. VFX allows filmmakers to create environments, objects, creatures, and even people that would otherwise be impractical or impossible to film in the context of a live-action shot.
Is the AI in ‘Ex Machina’ human?
Ava is not the only character in Ex Machina whose actions are questionable, but so too are those of us who have watched the film. In Ex Machina, a rich genius, Nathan, creates an AI, and invites a young programmer, Caleb, to his isolated estate to test whether the AI convincingly passes as human.
Does Ex Machina have any spoilers?
Ex Machina spoilers below. In the beginning of the film, Nathan states that Caleb will participate in a Turing test, as the human component (thus, Ava is the computer component). How the Turing test works: a human is placed in a room, alone, and he/she communicates solely through text with another human and a computer.
What should you be asking yourself at the end of Ex Machina?
What you should be asking yourself at the end of the film is not just whether Ava passed the test. Ava is not the only character in Ex Machina whose actions are questionable, but so too are those of us who have watched the film.
Does Ava get what she wants in ‘Avengers’?
By this point of the film, Ava has gotten what she wanted. She’s free. She sufficiently convinced Caleb of her ‘human status’ so he’d help her escape, and once done, all pretense to appear human is not necessary anymore. Which brings us to the second test.
