Is Hex and BCD same?

But do not get confused, binary coded decimal is not the same as hexadecimal. In the BCD numbering system, a decimal number is separated into four bits for each decimal digit within the number. Each decimal digit is represented by its weighted binary value performing a direct translation of the number.

How do you convert hex to BCD?

Program to convert Hexa-Decimal Number to its equivalent BCD

  1. Input: 11F.
  2. Output: 0001 0001 1111.
  3. Explanation: Binary of 1 – 0001. Binary of F – 1111. Thus, Equivalent BCD is 0001 0001 1111.
  4. Input: A D.
  5. Output: 1010 1101.
  6. Explanation: Binary of A – 1010. Binary of D – 1101. Thus, Equivalent BCD is 1010 1101.

How do I convert hex to BCD manually?

  1. (93F)16 = (? ) BCD
  2. Solution:
  3. (93F)16 = (_______)BCD Convert hexadecimal to decimal.
  4. (93F)16 = (_______)10 93F. =9×162+3×161+F×160. =9×256+3×16+15×1. =2367. ∴ (93F)16 = (2367)10
  5. (2367)10 = (_______)BCD 0010. 0011. 0110. 0111. ∴ (2367)10 = (0010001101100111)BCD
  6. ∴ (93F)16 = (0010001101100111)BCD
  7. (94D)16 = (? ) BCD

  6. Step VI : Jump to step IV.

What is the value of BCD?

A binary-coded decimal (BCD) is a type of binary representation for decimal values where each digit is represented by a fixed number of binary bits, usually between four and eight. The norm is four bits, which effectively represent decimal values 0 to 9.
