Is IIT BHU considered as old IIT?

It is one of the oldest engineering institutes in India which brought up electrical, mechanical, ceramic and pharmaceutical engineering in India. And it has always succeeded to stand with the other old IITs even when it wasn’t one.

Is IIT BHU and IIT Varanasi same?

The Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU), has been converted into Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University),Varanasi by the Government of India on 29th June, 2012.

Why IIT Varanasi is BHU?

In 1968, the former engineering colleges of BHU, namely Banaras Engineering College (BENCO), MINMET, and TECHNO, were merged to form the Institute of Technology (IT-BHU). It was later designated as IIT BHU in 2012, by an Act of Parliament. It was ranked 10 among top Engineering colleges in India by The Week.

Placements: CSE branch in IIT BHU has 100\% placements with an average salary package of about 25 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 1.5 crores per annum for foreign and about 65 LPA in case of domestic. Infrastructure: The main building of CSE and MNC is nearby and it is just good in terms of infrastructure.
