Is it easier to get a perfect score on SAT or ACT?

The SAT is better if you’re near a top score, because it’s easier to “ace”–to get a 99th percentile or perfect score on–than the ACT. There are many reasons for this, but if you think you’re going to be scoring high, your chances of scoring in the highest percentiles are better on the SAT.

What is the hardest ACT section?

The ACT® Reading and ACT® Science sections are both the hardest and easiest to prepare for.

How hard is it to get a perfect SAT score?

Getting a perfect score on the SAT seems like the stuff of legends. A very small percentage of test-takers–less than 1\%–achieve this feat. A perfect SAT score increases your chances of being admitted to Ivy League school and other top universities, and it can supplement a weaker GPA.

How common is perfect SAT?

A perfect SAT score is incredibly rare. According to the College Board’s most recent total group report, just over 1.5 million students in the class of 2021 took the SAT. Of these, just 8\% (118,704 students) scored between 1400 and 1600. Clearly, very few people scored above 1400 alone, let alone a perfect 1600!

And those scores don’t come easily. Only a fraction of 1 percent of students who take the SAT scored a perfect 1600 or, on the ACT, a composite 36 on the four subject areas. The College Board that runs the SAT didn’t provide specific numbers on perfect scores but reported that only 5 percent of test takers score above 1400.

Should you take the act or sat again to get perfect?

Admissions committees want to see dynamic, well-rounded applicants, not just applicants who can get a perfect score on an exam. If you’re thinking about taking the ACT or the SAT again to raise your score from close-to-perfect to perfect, consider again whether or not this is worth it.

Do colleges look at the SAT and act equally?

All colleges and universities look at the SAT and ACT equally. Therefore, it doesn’t matter which test you submit if you get a perfect score on both exams. That being said, it is easier to get a perfect score on the ACT than it is on the SAT because of the way the scores round.
