Linear means something related to a line. All the linear equations are used to construct a line. A non-linear equation is such which does not form a straight line. It looks like a curve in a graph and has a variable slope value.

How to graph linear equations?

If we use the example of y=2x-1, we can see that ‘-1’ is in the point on the equation where you would 4) Find the slope. In the example of y=2x-1, the slope is the number where ‘m’ would be found. That means that according to our example, the slope is ‘2.’ 5) Draw your line. Once you have marked at least one other coordinate using the slope, you can connect it with your y-intercept coordinate to form a line.
