Adults—At first, 0.25 milligram (mg) 2 times per day. Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed. However, the dose is usually not more than 4 mg per day. Children—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.

Dose increases: A doctor may increase a person’s dose by 0.5 to 1 mg every three days until their seizures are controlled. Maximum dose: 20 mg per day, taken in divided doses.
