Is MCT harder than bootcamp?
Some Marines found MCT to be a challenge, while others thought it was much easier than boot camp. After this training, Marines move on to training specific to their MOS before transferring to their Permanent Duty Stations.
What is infantry training battalion like?
Infantry Training Battalion (ITB) is a 59-day course. Marines are instructed in marksmanship, patrolling, grenade usage, identifying and countering improvised explosive devices, and land navigation, among other various infantry skills.
What is ITB like in the Marines?
ITB is a nine-week course that begins with basic infantryman training. The first four weeks of ITB will train Marines on modern Marine Corps infantry tactics. During training, Marines will spend two weeks in the classroom and the other seven in the field, where they will learn to employ their assigned weapon system.
Is Marine infantry school harder than boot camp?

MCT is a basic infantry training condensed into 29 days. MCT is for Marines whose MOS is not infantry (03xx). While at MCT, Marines will be taught weapons skills such as the handling and firing of M203 grenade launchers, AT-4 rocket launchers, M240 machine guns, and M249 Squad Automatic Weapons.
What time do you wake up at MCT?
Marines are not only provided with time to meet these physical standards, but are also expected to meet these standards. Typically, during the week, Marines will wake up between 4:00 and 6:00 A.M. and report to either their squad, unit, platoon, or, occasionally, their battalion, for morning Physical Training (PT).
What happens if you fail MOS school Marines?
If you fail the school you may be given a chance to recycle and try again. Your MOS will not change. You usually get offered a recycle after any failed phase, unless you horribly fail your peer reports. They won’t let you keep recycling forever.
