Is Nintendo switching Blu-Ray?
Besides downloading games, the Switch will have its own little proprietary card-based cartridges. It doesn’t support any DVD or Blu-ray-style discs, but it does have a microSD card slot to possibly expand its 32GB of internal storage.
Are Blu-Ray players going away?
According to Forbes, Samsung is discontinuing the production of new 4K Blu-ray players in the USA. And at least in 2019 the company will not introduce any new devices worldwide. Existing players will at least continue to be sold off.

The standard Switch has a 6.2-inch LCD screen, and outputs a 1080p feed when docked. Contrary to previous reports, the system does not appear to support 4K resolution when docked.
