Is Ranger school harder than Marine basic?

Yes Ranger school is far more difficult than your run of the mill individual that passes Marine Boot Camp. Marines are in admiration of Army Rangers & often like to compare themselves to the Elite Army Rangers. Marines beg for a slot to go through the Army Ranger School.

The United States Army Ranger School is one of the most challenging military schools in the world. It is the Army’s premier combat leadership and small unit tactics course. For the last 12 years, only 49\% of those who have attempted the course have succeeded.

What is it like to be a USMC Recon/Ranger?

The human body has limits no matter what unit you are in. Lots of turnover in both. Recon guys will go to basic Army Airborne school and some go to Ranger “School”. Most Marines in Ranger school, come back respectful and complimentary of the Ranger training.

Is recon ranger school harder than BRC?

All were very proud to have completed Ranger School because they knew it was somewhat rare for a Marine to get a seat in the school, and not every Recon Marine gets to attend it and become a Recon Ranger!! Bottom line: Ranger School may be more difficult for me, while BRC is more difficult for you.

Once completing RASP, soldiers are Rangers and wear a tan beret. Many Rangers continue to Ranger School, where they earn the right to become leaders, but Ranger School is different than RASP. Becoming a member of the Marines starts with a visit to your recruiter. You must be at least 17 years old.
