They have a fairly flat response so they’re good for mixing or dialing in guitar modelers, but still have a tiny tiny bit of scoop so everyday music listening is enjoyable. If you are looking for a pair of general purpose open back headphones, I recommend these above anything else.

The Samson SR850 are good for neutral sound; they deliver sound quite consistently and have a wide, spacious soundstage. Their exaggerated treble response gives them a bright sound profile and ensures instruments have detail, brightness, and airiness.

Are Samson SR850 comfortable?

They’re adequately comfortable. They’re light and don’t clamp onto your head with too much pressure, but the ear cups are small, so they feel almost like on-ear headphones instead of over-ears. Your ears are also likely to touch the drivers, which can be annoying.
