Is SNH48 related to AKB48?

The group has their own theater in Shanghai, China. The 1st generation members were announced in October, 2012. On June 2016, it was announced that SNH48 and its sister groups became fully independent from AKB48.

In my opinion, SNH48 and AKB48 are popular in developed area such as Shanghai, Beijing. But Tara is popular in many area in China. Korea groups have more influence in China, some fans were crazy and can spent a lot money. Even Jacky Ma has invented a Korea entertainment company. The korea group dance is keep improving quality.
