Is Valvoline ATV oil the same as motorcycle oil?

While ATV and motorcycle oil share very similar properties, there are slight differences between them. ATV oil is rated JASO MA, while motorcycle oil can be rated JASO MA2 or MB. This means normally for a manual wet clutch they are the same, but for an auto clutch ATV you should use ATV (JASO MA) oil.

Is there a difference between regular motor oil and motorcycle oil?

While protecting the engine, motorcycle oils must protect against oxidation, wear, friction and deposit formation similar to a passenger car motor oil. However, since a motorcycle engine is much smaller than a car engine, the oil must be formulated to travel smoothly through the narrower pathways.
