Should PC radiator fans be intake or exhaust?
Generally, you want the case fans in front of the case drawing in air while the fans at the rear blow air out. If your case has vents at the top, they should be placed as exhaust fans because hot air will rise. Side-mounted fans should be used for intake, though they often don’t have air filters.
Can you run electric fans on both sides of the radiator?
“A push/pull fan setup is best.” Using fans on both sides of the radiator is fine but if your radiator is cooling as well as it possibly can with fans on only one side, doubling your fan count is only going to cost more money and make the whole setup louder.
Does the radiator fan run while driving?
Normally, when you’re driving, air is moving across the radiator as the coolant moves through it which cools it off. However, when you’re in stop and go traffic or just idiling, the heat builds without the wind to cool it off. Your fan kicks on to pull the air through to stop the car from overheating.
Where do you put AIO?
One good mounting position is to mount the radiator of the cooler at the frontal area of the case interior. The side of the radiator where the tubes connect should be at the bottom, and the pump should be mounted in a position where it is slightly lower than the top of the radiator, where air is captured.
Where do AIO fans go?
But it has gotten quite a bit easier these days: You should connect your AIO pump to either the AIO_PUMP header or PUMP_HEADER, or something else similar, while the actual fans of the radiator should go to the CPU_FAN header — through a splitter like this if you have more than one fan.
Should I put fans on both sides of my AIO?
Splendid. You can put 2 fans in both sides of the AIO’s rad. This is called the Push AND Pull setup (as opposed to the Push OR Pull setup).
Where should I place my AIO radiator?
Do radiator fans always spin?
Temperature will often determine the time that a radiator fan starts up. A temperature-sensitive switch functions to turn the fan on and off periodically. Radiator fans are designed to start when the temperature of the engine coolant reaches around 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
When should the cooling fan come on?
Most fans should come on when the coolant reaches about 200 to 230 degrees. If the fan does not come on, something in the control circuit is defective.
Can you mount AIO on top of case?
A top mounted AIO will recycle the hotter air from inside your case and will result in higher CPU temperatures. With a top mounted radiator, you will want to have good fans at the front of the case to supply the components with cool air and to keep decent airflow.
Can I mount my radiator at the front of the case?
If your case does not allow you to mount your radiator at the front of the case with the tubes down or at the top of the case, you can mount your radiator at the front of the case with the tubes up as a last resort. If you do so, make sure that your cooler pump is mounted in a lower position than the top of your radiator.
Can I put an AIO on top of my CPU?
People who put an AiO on top will have it as exhaust. You can use an AiO as intake or exhaust, but having it as an intake at the front would give lower CPU temps. Make sure you filter the intakes too, and avoid putting intakes at the top of a case because heat rises, dust falls, and top intakes are not usually filtered.
What is the best way to use an AIO cooler?
Quick tip with AIO coolers: Use them in a pull configuration blowing them out of the case so you can clean the fins easily. A push orientation will force dust onto the fins and trap it. In terms of cooling the radiators (and therefore the CPU which is being cooled by the AIO), is there a big different between pull and push?
Where to position 240mm AIO with fan orientation?
Any insight on best positioning (and why) of 240mm AIO systems like this with fan orientation would be greatly appreciated. You can use an AIO as either an Intake or an Exhaust, when at the top of the case it is more often an exhaust.
