Should the AIO pump be higher than radiator?
In general, you want to make sure that: The radiator is in a higher position in the loop than the pump. When air is collected at the top, having the radiator mounted with the tubes down means air is not sucked into the tubes and the pump.
Can you bottom mount an AIO?
Ideally if front mounting, tubes should be at bottom of radiator, top mounting is fine. Bottom mount radiator necessarily puts the pump at the top of the loop which will lead to noise, poor performance and eventually pump failure. There is a gamers nexus video about this.
Can AIO fans change?
Yes, you can use any fans, as long as they are the same size, 120mm, because the AIO used the 120mm fans.
Can an AIO radiator be mounted at the bottom of the case?
Radiators at the bottom of the case are generally only installed in Mini-ITX cases. In these cases, the manufacturers need to come up with “ingenious solutions” due to limited space. This orientation is commonly the worst way of mounting a CLC Radiator as explained later. The proper way of mounting an AIO Radiator
What happens if AIO cooler mounting orientation is incorrect?
Incorrect mounting orientation of a new AIO cooler leads to a large amount of RMA applications by the buyers. This is because the buyer does not get the cooling performance that they were expecting out of the cooler coupled with weird noises from the pump block.
What happens if you mount a radiator wrong?
Air Bubbles: This is the most annoying result of wrong radiator mounting. If a radiator is installed in such a way that the pump is the highest point in the loop, this means that the small amount of air would be concentrated inside the pump block while the pump is working.
Can You mount a radiator at the bottom of the case?
Mounting a radiator at the bottom of the case is never advised since it automatically places the pump at the highest point of the loop. Now let’s investigate why the other orientations are detrimental to the cooling performance and longevity of the cooler. The biggest part in this is played by the small quantity of air inside the loop.
