Should you twist your arm when punching?

The best thing the arm can do is position itself to offer the most support during the impact. And the ultimate goal of rotating your fist is to support your hand and wrist with your forearm and elbow. You want to land your punches with a straight line formed from your fist to your elbow.

Should you twist your punch?

You should always rotate every punch whenever you’re trying to land one because this will allow for a free and smooth range of motion that enables you to hit with greater power and speed. Rotating your punches will also allow you to safely connect the punch with the right part of your knuckles (your proximal phalanx).
