Should your CPAP machine be lower than your head?

Keep your CPAP tubing lower than your head while you sleep. Keep the temperature in your bedroom warmer. Use a heated tube to maintain a steady temperature and humidity level. Keep your CPAP tube warm with a tube cover or by placing it under your blankets.

Keep the CPAP at the same height as your bed to ensure the tubing moves freely and to increase your comfort level. And if your unit has a humidifier, Griffin said it’s important your CPAP is level.

Where is the best place to place your CPAP machine?

A nightstand provides the best spot for a CPAP. Some people like to put them on the floor or under their bed so that they stay out of sight, but this can be hard on the device. Floors tend to have more dust than night tables, and increased dust will shorten the life of the air filter in your CPAP.
