What is the meaning of advocate on record?

For a young lawyer practising before the Supreme Court, an Advocate on Record (AOR) is a prestigious tag, that comes along with the privilege to file an appearance and act on behalf of a party before the Supreme Court.

Advocates’ behaviour towards his client should be kind and polite. He should treat his client nicely. He should give his best to get justice for his client. He should never manipulate a client and give proper advice to the client.

A senior advocate is the person who has been declared by the bar council as “senior advocate” after analysing his profile, practice, citations and history.
