Is CA Articleship mandatory?

What exactly is Articleship? Articleship is a mandatory part of the CA program and it provides a better overall learning experience. The duration of articleship/practical training is three years. It is mandatory for candidates to serve the first two years under a practicing CA.

Is Articleship compulsory for CA Intermediate?

Students enrolling for the CA Curriculum under the direct entry scheme after Graduation/ Post Graduation have to start their articleship training before appearing for the Intermediate Level (IPCC). CA Articleship Transfer Rules. ICAI has issued some rules in respect of the transfer of Articleship Training. As per ICAI guidelines, there is no restriction on the transfer of Articleship in the 1st year of Practical Training. Which means that a CA student can take the transfer in its first year without obtaining prior permission of ICAI.
