What are the types of ration cards?

The different types of ration cards under NFSA are:

  • Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) This type of ration card is given to impoverished families identified by the state governments.
  • Priority Household (PHH)
  • Below Poverty Line (BPL)
  • Above Poverty Line (APL)
  • Annapoorna Yojana (AY)

These economic categories are decided on the basis of total household income, where there is a head in a family, and all the family members who live together, and are not part of any other family. There are 4 types of ration cards recognized by the Government of India.

What is white ration card?

What is White Ration Card? This White Ration card is issued to the people or families, whose annual income is equal to or above Rs. 1,00,000/- i.e., it is used to Above Poverty Line (APL). These categories like APL, BPL, AAY etc are classified by the Food and Civil Supplies Department of India.

What is the APL card?

APL card in Karnataka is a document issued by the state government for its citizens under the public distribution system based on the annual income of a household. It indicates economic status of the citizen in the state. Mainly a citizen can purchase essential commodities from fair price shops.

What is white card India?

Those families having an annual income of over Rs. 1 lakh are given white cards. The Food and Civil Supplies Department of the state government controls the functioning of the PDS (Public Distribution System) and policy decisions are taken by the Rationing Controller.

What are the four classes of ration?

(1) Basal /Energy feeds or Carbohydrate concentrates: (i) high in carbohydrates or fats (energy). (ii) low in protein. (iii) low in fibre. (iv).

What is ration feeding?

A ration is the amount of feed an animal receives in a 24-hour period. A balanced ration is the amount of feed that will supply the proper amount and proportions of nutrients needed for an animal to perform a specific purpose such as growth, maintenance, lactation or gestation.
