What are Wood Badge tickets?

The Wood Badge “ticket” represents each Participant’s self-directed commitment to complete a set of personal goals relating to that individual’s Scouting position. These goals will significantly strengthen the program in which the Participant is involved.

How do you write a ticket for a Wood Badge?

Parts of a Ticket

  1. A list of your personal values.
  2. A description of your Scouting role or job.
  3. A statement of your vision of success.
  4. A mission composed of five significant goals that can be attained within. 18 months.

How many Wood Badge tickets?

You write five goals (called ticket items) to get you to the successful completion of your vision. You use the leadership skills learned in Wood Badge to complete your goals and you have 18 months in which to do so.

What happens at Wood Badge?

Generally, a Wood Badge course consists of classroom work, a series of self-study modules, outdoor training, and the Wood Badge “ticket” or “project”. Classroom and outdoor training are often combined and taught together, and occur over one or more weeks or weekends.

What are the Wood Badge patrols?

The course had 29 participants split into four patrols: Beaver, Bobwhite, Fox and Eagle. (Today’s Wood Badge courses add the Owl, Bear, Antelope and Buffalo patrols.)

Who can attend Wood Badge?

Wood Badge is an advanced, national leadership course open only to Scouting volunteers and professionals. Scouters from Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Explorers, and district and council Scouters all are welcome and belong here.
