What causes water shortage in Malaysia?

The shortage is not entirely due to inadequate capacity of Water Treatment Plants and distribution infrastructure. It is due to: ❖ Inadequate water resources recharge. ❖ Environmental issue – namely pollution (exacerbated by low flows) of river water sources by industries and poorly operated sewerage treatment plants.
