What happens in basic mountaineering course?
Basic Mountaineering Course, offers basic orientation and skills in rock craft, ice craft, rope work, mountaineering awareness, expedition planning, outdoor survival, camp craft, wilderness navigation, exposure to glaciers and high Himalayan Ranges and a real climb to a high point or a peak.
How long does it take to complete the NIMAS mountaineering course?
In NIMAS its 28 days program. At the end of this course, you get a certificate. Only when you attain ‘A’ Grade in your certificate, you will meet the criteria of taking admission in Advance Mountaineering Course in any institute. If not, then you’ll need to do this course again.
What is the difference between Nim and NIMAS Dirang?
The waiting in NIM is 2 years while in NIMAS Dirang, it is 6 months. This is me doing the rock climbing descent at NIMAS Dirang in 2016. Just look at the view!
How to become a mountaineer in India?
