What does Allah say about Prophet Muhammad?

The Quran asserts that Muhammad was a man who possessed the highest moral excellence, and that God made him a good example or a “goodly model” for Muslims to follow (Quran 68:4, and 33:21). The Quran disclaims any superhuman characteristics for Muhammad, but describes him in terms of positive human qualities.

Did the Prophet ever make a mistake?

Not generally. But when he chose majority opinion or opinion of his close advisers, he made mistakes and he was immediately corrected by Allah. Like hzrat Abu Bakar advised him to let the prisoners of war go, after taking a token fine.

Where did Muhammad grow up?

Mecca
He grew up in the hill country, learning their pure Arabic. When Muhammad was five or six his mother took him to Yathrib, an oasis town a few hundred miles north of Mecca, to stay with relatives and visit his father’s grave there.

Prophets are free from major sins, but are not from minor humane shortcomings. However, even those shortcomings are considered as “sin” towards them (Prophets) and the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) would seek forgiveness from Allah all the time.

We will often find Christians taking a lot of pain to prove that Prophet Muhammad was not sinless and Prophet Jesus was so. Indeed all the Prophets including, Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon them both, were sinless and at times some mistakes made by them were not sins as such.

What are the shortcomings of prophets in Islam?

However, even those shortcomings are considered as “sin” towards them (Prophets) and the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) would seek forgiveness from Allah all the time. Examples of such shortcomings are vow to not to eat honey, turning his face away from Abdullah ibn Umm Maktum, not saying “Insha Allah” (Surat Al-Kahf 23 – 24) , etc.
