What does carry forward mean in A levels?

A retake is a subject you give again, because you weren’t satisfied with the grades you received earlier. Whereas, a carry forward is a collective grade that you got a grade in your AS level which will add up to your A2 grade. Its a cumulative of the two years, and that qualifies as your final grade. What are carry forward Marks?

When a student re-takes a qualification which includes non-exam assessment (NEA), they may request a carry forward of the mark/grade for the NEA component.

Can I retake O levels?

If you have bad O level results but you die die want to get to a specific course (probably in poly), you can retake O levels. You may be able to do so in your current secondary school, if you meet the criteria for that, or you can do so as a private candidate.

HOW ARE AS and A level grades combined?

They are added together so that both AS and A2 have equal weighting. If your A level is 600 UMS overall, there’s 300 for AS and 300 for A2. For an A, I think you need 420 overall and so on down the grades. If your A level is 400, then there’s 200 for each year.

In case a candidate has failed in practical he/she shall have to appear in theory and practical both. If he/she fails to pass the examination in two consecutive years, after the first attempt he/she shall have to reappear in all the subjects including practical.
