The ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (or CHI as it’s typically called) is the premier international conference for the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).

What is the principle of HCI?

There are four fundamental principles of HCI, these are; perception, behaviour models, descriptive modeling and those covered by Schneiderman’s 8 rules. The user interface must be created in a way of which can be simple enough for anyone to use without assistance.

Is HCI same as UX?

The simplest difference would be – HCI is a field of study – you can do a Masters in HCI. Whereas UX is an application of the HCI theory. UX is intangible. It is how users experience products – how they feel while using a product or a service.

What is the difference between interaction and intervention in HCI?

Similar to direct-manipulation systems and proactive computers, the initiative for interaction can be taken by the human or the machine. Intervention in human-computer interaction is an action by the user that takes place during the usage of an automated system and initiates a diversion from the predefined behavior.
