What does EXO mean in music?

The more general term exomusicology (from the greek prefix exo, meaning ‘external to’ or ‘outside of’) is more appropriate to the study of nonhuman musical traditions, much as exobiology refers to the study of non-Earth life forms, and exolinguistics to the study of alien languages.

How did EXO get their name?

After several member changes in December 2011, the group finalized its name as Exo, taken from the word “exoplanet”. The news of an upcoming debut from SM Entertainment attracted substantial media attention from within South Korea and internationally, with many comparing Exo to fellow SM boy band TVXQ.

Why is EXO called King of Kpop?

This is why I think EXO will eventually earn the title “King of Kpop”. Their music is classy, unique and they have unmatched musicality. Every comeback is a new genre; they are very diverse and have done genres from ballads, jazz, EDM to rock (and they do it like it’s their genre).

Kim Jun-myeon (bornMay 22, 1991), better known by his stage name Suho (meaning “guardian” in Korean), is a South Korean singer, songwriter and actor. He is the leader and lead vocalist of the South Korean-Chinese boy group Exo and its sub-unit Exo-K.

What does Exos mean?

When did Exo debut?

EXO made their official debut on April 8, 2012 with the release of their debut single, MAMA. The single was a moderate success; EXO-M’s version topped mainland Chinese music charts after only one day of release, and EXO-K’s MAMA music video reached to number seven on YouTube’s Global Chart.

What is K pop mean?

K-pop (abbreviation of Korean pop; Hangul: 케이팝) is characterized by a wide variety of audiovisual elements. While the modern form of K-pop can be traced back as early as to early 90s, the term has been popularized since 2000s and replaced the term Gayo(가요) which also refers to domestic pop music in South Korea.
