What does VCD mean in air conditioning?

A zone damper (also known as a Volume Control Damper or VCD) is a specific type of damper used to control the flow of air in an HVAC heating or cooling system. In order to improve efficiency and occupant comfort, HVAC systems are commonly divided up into multiple zones.

What is sad HVAC?

SAD = (Supply Air Duct) It is defined as the conditioned air being supplied from the air conditioner outlet. This air is treated air & contains all the desired qualities as provided by the air conditioning system.

Both VAV and VCD are used to adjust/control the volume of air/ airflow through a branch of duct. VCDs are placed b/w 2 ducts or at a branch. VCDs usually have a handle with which we can open, close and regulate the damper blades/ louvers to resist / allow the flow of air through it.
