There are lots of telescopes, mounts and cameras to choose from, but these will give you the best performance for your investment.

Can you use a telescope with a camera?

A DSLR camera can be attached to your telescope using a T-Ring that locks on to the camera body like a lens, and an adapter that threads on to the T-Ring. Then, a threaded adapter can be fastened to your camera and T-Ring with either a 1.25″ or 2″ barrel (nose-piece).

What type of telescope is used for astrophotography?

If you want to image the planets and have fine resolution on the moon, you will want a telescope with a large aperture and long focal length. If you prefer widefield images and deep-sky imaging, a fast (lower f/ratio) telescope would be more preferable.
