- Injuries incompatible with history given.
- Alcohol/drug use in household.

- Caregiver not seeking medical attention.
- Apparent unrealistic expectations of infant.

- Caregiver at the time of injury was a male.
What is battered child syndrome symptoms?
Symptoms associated with battered child syndrome include poor performance in school, anxiety, panic and irritability. Abused children may act younger than their age, anger more quickly, cry more often and show signs of clinginess. They may lose weight or fail to weigh what is appropriate for their age.
What are the four signs of abuse?

What is shaken baby syndrome caused by?
If a baby is forcefully shaken, his or her fragile brain moves back and forth inside the skull. This causes bruising, swelling and bleeding. Shaken baby syndrome usually occurs when a parent or caregiver severely shakes a baby or toddler due to frustration or anger — often because the child won’t stop crying.
What founded abuse?
Founded means there is reasonable cause to believe that child abuse or neglect, as defined in ORS 419B. Founded means the determination following an investigation by the Department that, based on available information, it is more likely than not that child abuse or neglect did occur – see RCW 26.44.
