What functions do INTPs use?
The INTP’s cognitive functions are Introverted Thinking, Extraverted Intuition, Introverted Sensing, and Extraverted Feeling.
What is auxiliary NE like?
The INFP auxiliary or secondary function is their extraverted intuition or Ne. This is a function which is very focused on patterns and ideas and is part of what makes the INFP so creative. While this is not their dominant function, it is still very important to how they see and respond to the world around them.
What does dominant introverted thinking look like?
People whose dominant function is Ti are known for being very analytical, very logical and very objective. Their brains are wired to for that. Introverted Thinkers develop complex systems and models in their heads. These models explain how things work.
How does the INTP mind work?
Auxiliary: Extraverted Intuition INTPs express this cognitive function by exploring what-ifs and possibilities. They utilize insight, imagination, and past experiences to form ideas. They often go over what they know, seeking patterns until they can achieve a flash of inspiration or insight into the problem.
Why is the auxiliary function important?
The auxiliary helps you balance Extraversion and Introversion. Everyone needs to be able to pay attention to the outer world and move into action, and everyone needs to be able to pause for reflection and pay attention to their inner world.
How does function auxiliary NI work?
The auxiliary function helps to balance the dominant function in two important ways: If the dominant function is introverted (i), the auxiliary function will be extraverted (e), and vice versa. This helps maintain a proper balance between our inner and outer worlds.
How do I know if I’m a TI Dom?
I’m not easily swayed by emotions and biases. I try to detach myself from a situation before evaluating and analyzing it. Getting too involved and putting my own personal feelings into the situation might result in an unfair or illogical outcome.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the auxiliary function?
A great advantage of the auxiliary function is it’s conscious enough to be accessible and readily employed, but novel enough to be interesting and inspiring. Contrast this with the dominant function, which can feel a bit lackluster, and the inferior, which may seem beyond developmental reach or overly at odds with the dominant function.
What is the role of extraverted intuition in ENFP?
Extraverted Intuition (Ne) Extraverted Intuition (Ne) serves as the dominant function for the ENFP and ENTP, as well as the auxiliary function for the INFP and INTP personality types. Since Intuition is a Perceiving function and Ne is extraverted in its direction, an overarching purpose of Ne involves acquiring information from the outside world.
Why do NP entrepreneurs need extraextraverted intuition?
Extraverted Intuition can also help NPs sniff out intriguing possibilities. It can help NP entrepreneurs read trends and identify promising opportunities. Ne also contributes a sense of wonderment toward life’s mysteries and contingencies. This is why NPs often enjoy the role of wanderer or seeker.
Is the inferior function the most mature?
One problem with the inferior function, which I discuss in my book, The 16 Personality Types, is it’s the least conscious, least mature, and least accessible of a type’s four functions. If we think of the dominant as the most mature or “adult” function, we might conceive of the inferior as the “toddler” or, at best, the “child” function.
