What happens after Air Force BMT?

Upon completion of BMT, new Airmen report to technical school to for job training specific to their AFSC(Air Force Specialty Code). Tech School lasts anywhere from 6 to 72 weeks, depending on the specialty of the Airmen. Airmen live in Dorms similar to college dormitories.

How much do you run in Airforce BMT?

To ensure a smooth transition into the BMT fitness program, your goal should be a continuous 30 to 40 minute run 3-5 times a week.

1.5-mile run The member runs or walks, or performs a combination of running and walking, to complete the 1.5-mile distance as quickly as possible. To graduate from AFBMT, a recruit must meet the following standards: Males: 1.5 miles in 11 minutes and 57 seconds. Females: 1.5 miles in 14 minutes and 26 seconds.

How much do you have to weigh to join the military?

Allowable measurements vary by age and gender. A 5-foot-6-inch woman, for example, must weigh at least 117 pounds but cannot weigh more than 155 to 161 pounds, depending on age. A 5-foot-9-inch man has to weigh at least 128 pounds, but can’t tip the scales at more than 175 to 188 pounds.

Air Force Basic Military Training Officials recommend that you work out at least 3-5 times per week, and at least six weeks prior to Basic Military Training. Note: for your health and safety, we recommend that you consult with your doctor prior to beginning any physical fitness regimen.
