If you have to do fail a semester at AUT your course leader will talk over it with you to work out a plan that will suit you. AUT hire only the best staff that are extremely dedicated to their jobs, their students and know what they are talking about.

You may be kicked out of your major. This change of major may be mandatory. In other words you may have no choice in the matter. If you do end up changing majors, you may be able to switch to a related major and transfer some of your college credits. You may even be able to graduate in the same number of semesters.

If you have failed a subject, the credit points won’t count towards your degree, but it may affect your WAM. You will need to repeat the subject, in the case of a core or compulsory subject; or ‘replace’ the subject with a different subject.

What if I fail a semester in college?

You will have to retake any classes for which you did not get credit if they are required. If they are not they will not count towards your graduation hours. However, if you continue not to pass classes, you will be put on academic probation.
