What happens if you fail the IB?
If a student fails an IB exam, he/she may retake it the next year. If a student has failed an exam at the end of grade 11, he/she may retake the exam in May of grade 12. The IB instructor works throughout the IB course to familiarize students with the sort of questions and activities they will face on the IB exams.
Can you get IB credit without the diploma?
Course credit can still be given without a diploma, with a minimum of 4 on HL exams and 5 on SL exams. IB diploma recipients must have at least 3 HL exams. Non-diploma students will get advanced standing for HL exams with a score of 5-7 and foreign language SL exams if the score is 6-7.
