What happens if you take a balloon to the bottom of a swimming pool?

The pressure from the water causes the air to compress inside the balloon. The deeper the balloon is taken into the water, the greater the pressure, and therefore, the smaller the balloon will become.

How many questions is the padi final assessment?

The PADI Open Water Diver (OWD) final exam consists of 50 questions, so we have included these practice questions (and answers) to help you study for this test.

Is it possible to blow up a balloon while you’re under water?

is it possible to inflate a balloon with air underwater? A: Sure, if you have a pair of strong lungs or an air hose. The deeper the water the more pressure you would need since the underwater pressure increases rapidly as a function of depth.

When I descend my wet suit will?

You’ll be wearing the amount of weight required to achieve neutral buoyancy at the surface. But as you descend, your wetsuit will compress. This decreases your volume, and results in a loss of buoyancy. To maintain neutral buoyancy, you need to add air to your BCD as you descend.

What happens if you put a balloon in a room with a lower pressure?

If the balloon is flexible, then it expands as it rises to altitudes with lower air pressure. If the temperature is constant, if pressure goes down, volume will go up (balloon expands). If T is constant, and the pressure goes up (say you hold the balloon underwater), then V will go down (balloon shrinks).

What would happen to a balloon full of air if you moved it from above water?

The volume of the balloon would increase.

How close should I stay to my dive flag?

Vessels must remain at least 50 feet away from the flag. If they have to approach the diving area, operators must have permission from the person who placed the flag or the boat displaying the flag. Outside of 50 feet, vessel operators must operate at “idle speed” out to a distance of 150 feet.

What happens if you pop a balloon underwater?

If filled at the surface and submerged, the balloon could go quite deep without ever being damaged. As the pressure increases with depth, the balloon would shrink further and further until it appeared to be flat and void of air.

Can you blow up a balloon in space?

Yes, it is easy to blow up a balloon in space. The way you inflate a balloon is to put a larger pressure inside the balloon than outside, which is easy to do when the outside pressure is near zero. The balloon will continue to expand until one of two things happens.

What affects your buoyancy?

The six factors that affect your buoyancy are your ballast weight and your BC inflation, of course, and also your trim, your exposure suit buoyancy, your depth and your breath control. Your ballast weight and your trim are the only two factors that, once you’ve selected them, stay put.

Does a wet suit expand?

Wetsuits are made from a neoprene material. To some degree, all neoprene stretches to fit your body and contour to your shape. Although all neoprene stretches a little, the higher the grade the neoprene, the more it will stretch. Inexpensive, standard neoprene will stretch a bit.
