What if I cancel Atal Pension Yojana?

You must visit the bank where the Atal Pension Yojana account is held. Once the closure is processed by the bank, the money available in the account along with the interest that has been generated will be transferred into the bank account that was provided by you. A notification will also be sent by the bank.

What is the penalty for APY?

For monthly contributions worth between Rs 501/- to 1000/- per month, Rs. 5 will be charged per month. For monthly contributions worth more than Rs 1001/- per month, Rs. 10 will be charged per month.

Can APY be closed prematurely?

For closing APY account, one needs to apply in the prescribed form with the bank where the savings account is held. The voluntary exit from APY can be done anytime before the age of 60 and the refund will come to one’s savings account.

How do I cancel my APY scheme online?

1) Visit the official website of NPS CRA. 2) Select “Forms” and choose the “Withdrawal and Continuation” section. 3) Download “APY Death & Spouse Continuation” or “Voluntary Exit APY Withdrawal Form” as per your requirement. 4) Fill in the form with relevant information like PRAN, name, etc.

What happens if I miss an Atal Pension Yojana payment date?

A subscriber of Atal Pension Yojana will have to pay penalty charges if he/she misses the payment date. The subscriber will need to pay Re.1 for missing a monthly contribution of Rs.100, Rs.2 for missing a contribution of Rs.101 to 500, and so on. Atal Pension Yojana was launched by the Indian Government on 9 th May, 2015.

The Central Govt. has decided to extend the beneficiary benefits of the subscribers of the Atal Pension Yojana (APY). But from now onwards, after a special amendment by the Govt., the living spouse can also save money in the pension account and get the same benefits of Atal Pension Yojana.

What happens if I Stop my APY contributions?

Stopping APY contributions will not deactivate the account and later on, one can regularize APY account by paying a penalty of Rs 1 per month for the contribution of every Rs 100. APY has a limited pension amount, which could be inadequate, hence one should have adequate savings directed towards one’s retirement.
