Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is the nodal agency for granting academic equivalence to the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) with Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree of an Indian University for the purpose of admission to higher studies in India and abroad.

Similarly, any UGC recognised university can offer degree courses like BA,MA, BCom, MCom, BBA, Bsc, MSc, BCA without having to do anything with AICTE.

If you want to pursue career in India AICTE is enough but if you want in foreign lands NBA is must for easy careers pathway . ( especially USA, CANADA and now GCC countries starting from Kuwait, but the upper hand is always of the employer in such decisions ) Also please note NBA Tier 1 approval is must for foreign lands.
