What is BWL and VWL?

Volkswirtschaftslehre (VWL) is then the name for degree programmes focusing on the Ökonomie of a particular country. Betriebswirtschaftslehre (BWL) is then the degree programme focusing on economics as it applies to business, often with some management stuff thrown in.

What is Vwl in German?

German term or phrase: VWL. Contained in an ‘Anstellungsvertrag (befristet)’for an employee who is being transferred from one job to another in the same group of companies.

What is BWL English?

Betriebswirtschaftslehre — in short BWL — is a large and powerful Bachelor’s degree programme taught in German at HTW Berlin. Around 1,500 students are currently enrolled in this study programme. As an international exchange student, you have many courses to choose from.

As a former business studies major, I can attest that the difference is business studies covers broad curricula of management, marketing, business law, advertising, human resources, etc., while business management majors focus more on the science of management, such as strategy and decision-making.
