If we summarise, BHP is the power output of an engine, CC determines the size of an engine and The Torque determines the acceleration of the car.

Both torque and horsepower are about measuring force. In fact, brake horsepower is derived from a calculation that relies on torque: BHP = Torque X RPM / 5252. Defined simply, multiply the torque by the axis’s rotational speed per minute (RPM) and you’ll get the engine’s final power output.

What is better torque or RPM?

Horsepower equals torque multiplied by rpm, divided by a constant. Because there is generally a limit on how fast you can spin an engine, having higher torque allows for greater horsepower at lower rpms.

BHP (Brake Horse Power) is the common rating that we consider while measuring the power of a bike. Technically it is the maximum power produced before it is delivered to the drive train. Torque is the turning effect produced by the engine. Peak Torque is available in lower RPM’s. The naive categorization is : In lower gears we get more torque.

What is the bhp of 20 lb ft of torque?

Suppose in a bike 20 lb ft torque is available at the wheels at 5000 rpm so the BHP will be (torque*rpm)/5252 = 19.04 . For another bike let us assume that the same torque is available at 6000 rpm so the BHP will be (torque*rpm)/5252=22.84 .

What is the meaning of rpm in a car?

It is applied so that one can arrive at horsepower. RPM means the Revolutions per Minute” of the crankshaft around which the engine provides the engine with maximum power. The speed and strength of a car matter a lot. This depends on both the BHP and the torque of the engine.
