What is Class 2 land in Maharashtra?

Occupancy class–II lands are commonly known as collector’s land as they require prior permission from the collector for transfer. Freehold means the ownership lies with the occupants who can use the land in any manner in accordance with local regulations.

What is a Class 1 land?

Class I (1) soils have slight limitations that restrict their use. Class II (2) soils have moderate limitations that reduce the choice of plants or require moderate conservation practices. Class III (3) soils have severe limitations that reduce the choice of plants or require special conservation practices, or both.
