What is EC fan in Ahu?

EC stands for Electronically Commutated, and it combines AC and DC voltages bringing the best of both worlds. The motor runs on a DC voltage, but with a single phase 230VAC or three phase 400VAC supply. A high efficiency, low noise, and continuous motor speed control is possible with this.

What is EC fan?

EC fans are direct drive fans that are integrated into the cooling unit by replacing the centrifugal fans and motor assemblies. They are inherently more efficient than traditional centrifugal fans because of their unique design, which uses a brushless EC motor in a backward curved motorized impeller.

What is EC fan in HVAC?

An EC fan is essentially a digital fan. EC motors developed by Swiss Rotors use permanent magnets to create the rotor field, and a series of coils controlled by an electronic “commutator” to create the stator field. This electronic control is what gives EC motors their benefits.

EC fans are capable of intelligent speed control – further reducing energy consumption. EC electric motors utilise a permanent magnet in the secondary field. When the rotor is energised it creates a repelling magnet, thus allowing the motor to rotate within the field.

Put simply, EC motors are approximately 30 percent more efficient than AC motors because: Lamination and copper heat loss is reduced by 50 percent. Slip loss is reduced to 0. Inverter loss is reduced by 50 percent.

The Can-Fan EC Fan controller regulates the speed of fans to maintain optimal temperature and humidity conditions within the grow room. The sensor monitors the current temperature and humidity levels within the growing room, and gradually increases the fan speed until levels are achieved.
