In simple terms, writing an authorization letter means you are authorizing or legally allowing someone to act on your behalf. An authority letter is used in scenarios such as : You’re sick and want someone to cover your duties.

When i joined cognizant, they didn’t ask me to submit ‘letter of authorization’ for verification. To the best of my knowledge i know it’s something that you will have to provide to enter into a legally binding contract, but cognizant has got no bonds.
